MV Credit's partnership with charity Raise Your Hands in action
September, 2023
At the start of every term, there are children that don’t have the equipment they need to engage with learning and enjoy being at school. So, a group of staff volunteers at MV Credit took time out ahead of the new school term to fill nearly 40 backpacks, with the best quality school supplies. The backpacks were subsequently delivered into the homes of families who needed them most.
As part of our charity partnership with Raise your Hands, MV Credit staff also raised funds to purchase the school back packs and all the associated equipment such as pens, calculators and writing books.
The backpacks were sent to the Empire Fighting Chance charity to be distributed to children being supported as part of their Year 6 preparations.
A spokesperson from the charity said:
It was heartwarming to see the children’s faces when they received their packs and emotional for me to hear these comments - ‘this is amazing, I’ve even got a water bottle’, ‘I love painting but can’t afford paints’.
And a personal thank you from one of the teachers too:
Thank you so much for the kind donation of backpacks filled with resources for our Y6 children moving onto Y7 in September. They were absolutely thrilled with them and were opening them and looking at the contents like it was Christmas day! I hope you realise what a difference you have made to their lives and to that of their families; many do not simply have the money to get these for their children. One child said, "oh I love drawing and I don't have pens at home so this is amazing."
